I gave up ice cream long ago. But I am tempted to drive to Vermont to eat just one spoonful of Ben & Jerry’s newest brand: Hubby Hubby.
That’s why the famous chain rebranded the flavor. “At the core of Ben & Jerry’s values, we believe that social justice can and should be something that every human being is entitled to,” said Walt Freese, Ben & Jerry’s CEO.
Alas, the relabeled product is available for only 30 days and only in Vermont. “”Now more than ever, Vermont is for lovers … and for lovers of marriage equality,” proclaims product literature.
Wait a minute. Virginia claims to be for lovers. Of course, certain restrictions apply here.
But, when–and I do mean “when”–Virginia completely lives up to its tourist slogan by approving marriage equality, will we get some special ice cream, too?
