28 Years Later . . .

For one thing, I am sitting in a hotel lobby in Queens writing this and answering email on my laptop — and the only wire in sight is the power cord. Without the PC, no laptop, without the laptop, perhaps no WiFi.

It is not always clear that instant communication all the time is progress. But there surely are some good points.

I am grateful to be able to share my joy of writing with people who want to read it. I appreciate being able to check movie listings wherever I am. I love being able to stay in touch with family and friends with ease.

So, thanks IBM and all your technocrats. Keep up the good work.

By the way, what does IBM make now?
